Cantina Scacciadiavoli was named after a 17th century exorcism that used Sagrantino wine to chase away the devil. It was founded in 1884 by the Prince Boncompagni-Ludovisi who left Rome to pursue a passion for vinoculture. Though the vineyard has not stopped producing wine since its founding, in 2000 it was revamped with a new space for efficiently producing top shelf wine.
Out of stock100% Sagrantino. The grapes are gently pressed within 6 hours of harvesting, then aged for at least eighteen months. Bright cherries jump out on the nose. The palate is dry, crisp red fruits, with plums coming on the long finish. The characteristics of the wine reveal themselves in a new form: the aromas are fresh and delicate, and the tannins, typical of Sagrantino, give structure and unite the bubbles. Pair with appetizers, first courses, fish, and fresh cheese. Learn More
