Tabarrini Vineyard

Montefalco’s Tabarrini family has produced wine for more than four generations, but it was not until the 1990s when Giampolo Tabarrini’s business enthusiasm met his family’s love of wine. With pride in the local Sagrantino grape, the Tabarrinis continue to produce their signature bottles, each of which is imbued with their respect for the land and for the patience required to produce outstanding wine.

  3. Colle Grimaldesco Montefalco Sagrantino
    $42.00

    Purchase in store

100% Sagrantino. As Giampaolo's first Sagrantino, this wine brought him early critical acclaim. The grapes come from a silt-rich and clay soil guaranteeing perfectly ripened grapes and a powerful, deep and balanced wine. Stewed fruits, dried fruit, herbs, with fresh dill persisting in the nose. This is a full bodied wine that has the structure to permit it to evolve for upwards of 20 years. Given the high tannins, we recommend decanting for one hour prior to serving. This wine cannot be shipped outside of Washington, DC and is available for in store pickup only. Learn More
  4. Montefalco Rosso DOC 2006
    $21.00

    Purchase in store

60% Sangiovese, 25% Barbera, and 15% Sagrantino. This is not Sagrantino's younger brother; it is a flavorful and age worthy wine in its own right, with great dignity and much potential. The fusion of traditional grapes, Sangiovese and Sagrantino - along with the precious input of Barbera, ensure this wine has the makings of a future Montefalco classic. This garnet red wine retains the structure and sweetness of red fruit without losing its freshness, and pairs well with poultry, red meat, and semi-aged cheeses. Learn More
