We are thrilled to welcome third generation winemaker Alberto Paltrinieri for an incredible Chef’s Table dinner featuring his elegant and exciting wines. Not your average Lambrusco, Paltrinieri’s focus on varietals such as Lambrusco di Sorbara and Lambrusco di Salamino has yielded a collection of sharp and expressive wines that are notable for their dry, refreshing, often times tangy flavors. We invite you to gather around our table as we drink our way through the Paltrinieri family’s history of winemaking and enjoy an incredible meal prepared by Chef Simone, designed to bring out the unique and explosive flavors of Lambrusco and Emilia.
The Via Umbria Family is absolutely dedicated to a total dining experience from start to finish! I loved the great stories about the origins of the food and wine being served as well as the social environment it creates. Warm and inviting ambiance, genuine caring service from the moment you walk in, authentic, fresh, passionately prepared food and a beautiful variety wines. Thank you, truly unforgettable!

This place is such a gem! One of my new favorites in Georgetown. Via Umbria offers special dinner options and wine pairings making it the perfect place for date night or a small get-together! The wine here is also fantastic! A total win for Georgetown!!!

The Fine Print
Our Dinners at the Chef's Table are single-seating, fixed price, fixed menu dinners. Typically, guests sit at a communal table in our demonstration kitchen, though we will occasionally host parties in our downstairs wine room. Diners are joined at every course for an introduction to each dish. Throughout the year, our dinners may be prepared by visiting Italian guest chefs, hosted by winemaker colleagues or themed around a particular region or specialty. A vegetarian offering may be substituted with advance request.
Dinners range in price from $75 to $150 for a four course meal, depending upon the specific menu. The Chef's chosen wine pairings can be added for an additional charge. Alternatively, our Choose Your Own Bottle (CYOB) program allows guests to purchase wine from our in-house Enoteca (wine store) without the corkage fee.
How it works: We ask that you arrive 15 minutes early for check in so that we can seat the whole group promptly at 7pm. While you wait, we will provide a glass of complimentary prosecco while you mingle and explore the Via Umbria storefront. Dinners begin at 7:00 pm; we suggest that guests expect to spend two to three hours with us in order to fully enjoy the experience. We always do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but can not guarantee that late guests will receive all courses.

All of our events are ticketed events with limited seating. Tickets are purchased in advance, on a first-come first-served basis until sold out. Events at Via Umbria are unique experiences that are carefully crafted to create an outstanding and memorable dynamic. By requiring pre-purchase of tickets, we minimize the frequency of no-shows and ensure that we create the best possible experience at the best possible price for what we offer.
Each month’s tickets are offered for sale all at once, through our monthly event calendar, which is typically posted at least a month in advance. Event buyouts and private events are also possible. Please contact us if you are interested in more information.
Tickets are not refundable and cannot be exchanged for a different date or time, but they are transferable to other people. Think of it like buying a ticket to a concert, baseball game, or movie. Ticket prices do not include a 10% DC Meals Tax, which will be added to your purchase, or gratuity, which is at your discretion.
