Elli Behdad

On exhibit 7/17/18 to 8/25/18

Ellaheh Behdad (Elli) is a modern expressionist in Maryland, working in acrylic, oil and sculpture. Her work is influenced by her world travels and experience of different cultures. She presents a blend of classic and contemporary art, which is constantly evolving. Elli performs on large canvas, with the harmony of colors and unique technique in abstract art, producing idealistic fantasies that generate a visceral response. Elli showed her talent from childhood and studied art after finishing high school in Washington DC. She continued her education in graphic design in Montreal, Canada where she joined the Women’s Art Society. She developed her own technique with oil, influenced by the beauty of fall colors in Quebec. Come experience this unique exhibit!.

When she moved back to Washington, DC, Elli started creating her new style with bright color oils and acrylic on canvas. Although she works on large canvas, she never compromises details for abstract style, which shows movement and emotion by coordinating texture and colors in every piece. Elli’s views and imagination are the basic formation of deconstruction of any scene or subject in her art. She is currently working on metal and stone sculptures. Elli has held exhibitions in Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland and Montreal, Canada. She works and exhibits her paintings and sculptures at her studio in Gaithersburg and her second studio (number14) at Artists & Makers Studios in Rockville Maryland, as well as current exhibits in galleries in the area.
