Join Via Umbria for the Feast of Seven Fishes
The Feast of the Seven Fishes is a traditional Southern Italian Christmas Eve dinner consisting of seven fish courses and commemorating the wait for the midnight birth of the baby Jesus. Via Umbria is celebrating this traditional event with seven extraordinary fish dishes, each paired with a wine chosen by Chef and Sommelier, Vickie Reh. Chef Reh loves pairing food and wine and this meal will be no exception. “I am devoted to the combination of wine and food and their ability to make each other shine.”
Our Christmas Eve Feast will take place in Via Umbria’s new kitchen--or as owner Bill Menard calls it the laboratorio--with guests seated at one of our two communal tables. Several times each week Chefs Vickie Reh and Jodie Steiner will prepare Italian dinners paired with regional wine--with a heavy focus on all things Umbrian, of course! Or you can sign up for a dinner with visiting Italian Chefs, including Via Umbria’s special friend, Chef Simone Proietti-Pesci, chef and owner of le Delizie del Borgo in Bevagna, Italy (Simone will return to Via Umbria in January).
One of the remarkable things about the Via Umbria experience is the interaction between the people preparing the food and the guests. “We encourage guests to watch and ask questions.
