70% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot, 15% Sagrantino. Matured in barrels for 12 months, it features a full flavor and mellow tannin, with nuanced flavor notes of red fruit, tobacco and spices. Pair with pork dishes, roast poultry, and semi-aged cheeses.

About the Vineyards

Cantina Benincasa was established in 1964 by Domenico Benincasa. The vineyard was originally composed of six hectares of land used to produce Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso. Today, the farm covers 46 hectares, 10 of which are planter with grapevines and 18 with olive trees. The rest compromises arable land, woods and truffle fields. After the 2000 harvest, the vineyard passed to Benincasa’s third generation: Marco and Roberto Alimenti, the founder’s grandsons.
