Vincastro Umbria Rosso IGT
50% Sangiovese, 50% merlot The grapes are harvested in cassettes, brought to the winery by hand, where they are macerated for 12 days. Put in steel tanks for short aging and then they are bottled. The wine has a ruby color, medium body and structure with red fruit fragrances and enjoyable tannin. Medium bodied and fragrant, this wine is best paired with salami and poultry.

About the Vineyards

Cantina Benincasa was established in 1964 by Domenico Benincasa. The vineyard was originally composed of six hectares of land used to produce Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso. Today, the farm covers 46 hectares, 10 of which are planter with grapevines and 18 with olive trees. The rest compromises arable land, woods and truffle fields. After the 2000 harvest, the vineyard passed to Benincasa’s third generation: Marco and Roberto Alimenti, the founder’s grandsons.
